In a ceremony held on April 3, Yonsei University President Dr. Dong-Sup Yoon visited the New Millennium Hall(NMH) to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated fifth floor. The fifth floor of the NMH is the central hub for the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) operation, connecting important branches of the graduate school like the Dean’s office, GSIS administrative office, Office of Development and Alumni Relations, Career Development Center, and other faculty members’ offices.

D.Phil. Jung-Hoon Lee, D.Phil., Dean of Yonsei GSIS, warmly welcomed President Yoon, guided him to the newly renovated spaces, and introduced him to faculty members, staff, and students representing GSIS clubs and associations.

During the opening ceremony, Yonsei University President, Dr. Yoon, remarked: “Yonsei GSIS is the first graduate school of international studies in South Korea, established in 1987. Yonsei GSIS proudly holds the title of the first and the best, all thanks to the GSIS faculty’s dedication, high-achieving alumni in action, and active student community.”

During the last winter break, the fifth floor was under construction for renovation, and many offices moved into adjacent floors and buildings. The new fifth floor looks modern in a white marble theme, complementing the recently renovated seventh floor, which houses three big lecture halls capable of hosting various offline and online lectures. The GSIS office plans to expand the renovation to other floors in the future to support a dynamic educational experience for the students.
