Yonsei is celebrating its 140th Anniversary this year! To celebrate the occasion, a celebratory ceremony was held on May 10, Saturday at 10:30 AM in the Centennial Hall, Concert Hall, Sinchon Campus. The President of the University graced the event with his august presence and launched the remarkable - Yonsei’s Next Nobel Project, with the aim of fostering a research environment that can produce research, worthy of Nobel Prize, across a variety of disciplines. As President Yoon said: “A single seed sown 140 years ago by missionaries Allen, Underwood, and Avison has grown into a thriving forest of intellect, shining brightly across Korea and beyond.”

On the celebratory occasion, Yonsei has also come up with a new emblem - a design that uses the number 140 and the shape of a wing, [which] expresses the emitting of a new light from Yonsei. There are a variety of events that are also being organized throughout the year, one of them being an exhibition of historical treasure from the Yonsei archives. The exhibits will be on display in the Centennial Hall on the Sinchon Campus from May 9 until September this year. Other events can also be found on Yonsei’s official calendar.
