For most students at GSIS the last couple of weeks have been consumed by mid-term exams, assignments, presentations, or the combination of all. Hours and hours spent at the library surviving on coffee and convenience store snacks, locked in 24h cafes with overpriced and often not-so-tasty drinks, or at home deprived of any form of social interaction… These obviously lead to exhaustion and take a toll on a person’s morale. The midterm period is never fun.
But, enough of that talk. Mid-terms are now in the past, and whether you think you did well or are regretting your life decisions, you still deserve some celebratory fun to boost your spirits up! That’s why I present you with a guide of some the best activities to do to relieve some stress:
Noraebang for the win
A good karaoke session to scream-sing your frustration away with a song of your choosing. It is always liberating and can be so much fun if done with the right company (that means someone with a music taste as impeccable as yours). There are plenty of noraebang in Sinchon, so the possibilities are endless.
Playing pool (or constantly missing the ball)
Pool is timeless and incredibly fun. You’ve never played pool or are not good? Then, that makes it even better. It’s a nice activity to share with friends that will bring the competitiveness out of you and draw out lots of laughter. Give it a go!
Picnic
Personally, touching grass (literally) is a must for me after exams. Breathing some fresh air after spending so much time indoors is an energy booster. Now that the weather is so nice, it is a perfect opportunity to have picnics by the river with your friends and hang out under the sun.
Massages and treatments
After working so hard we all deserve some pampering, and Seoul is the perfect place to find budget-friendly treatments that will make you feel revitalized. From skin-focused treatments to body massages to scalp therapy, there is a whole catalogue out there for you.
Good and tasty food
The simplest one and my personal favorite. After accumulating so much tiredness, nothing feels better than a scrumptious meal — and good company makes it even better. Extra points if you manage to make a new experience out of it: try that restaurant that you saved months ago and never got to go to or treat yourself to something you wouldn’t have on the daily… It’s a special occasion after all!
Happy post-exam weeks!
