Professor Choi received her degrees in political science from Yonsei University and Duke University. She was a pre-doctoral fellow at the United States Institute of Peace and continued her research as a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard University. Her field of expertise is in international relations theory, the management of international conflict, alliance behavior, democracy and international cooperation, and national security policy. Her major work appeared in International Security, International Studies Quarterly and Journal of Conflict Resolution.
