The first ever All-GSIS Career Fair was held on Saturday, May 20th with a turnout of current students and recent graduates all eager to get a glimpse into what career opportunities may soon await them. The new GSIS alumni association president Jeonghahn Kim started off the day by telling students of his career as a politician and the need for solidarity and community among GSIS alumni.
The key note speaker Prof. Ji Ae Sohn gave an uplifting talk filled with valuable advice on career, life and even family. She encouraged the audience to not let fears of being "unqualified" prevent you from going after your goals, to "go boldly where no one has gone before" while you still can, and that at the end of the day family can be the most important achievement of your life.
After the opening remarks, students filtered into separate career sessions based on their preferred interests. Career sessions were presented by GSIS alumni who have succeeded in careers in the private and public sectors. Speakers came from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the National Assembly, World e-Governments Organizations of Cities and Local governments, KOICA, Bloomberg, Tesla, SM Entertainment, Obelab Inc. , LIG Nex 1, KTIC, Shinsegae E-Mart, Kia Motors, Hand and Malt Brewing Company, Nam June Paik Art Center, Lenddo Korea Corp, KDS and KPMG Korea.
