On the 26th of February, Yonsei GSIS welcomed 67 new students—two doctorate students and 65 master’s students—for Spring 2019. The new cohort is comprised of students from 20 different countries; 17 male students and 50 female students; and 60 Global Studies majors and five Korean Studies majors for the master’s program.
Dean Jeong-Yeon Lee, Ph.D. welcomed new students with his congratulatory remarks, encouraging the students to visit his office and to meet students of shared interests in the diverse community of Yonsei GSIS. He also expressed his appreciation for the new students’ choice to come to Yonsei GSIS.
Following to welcoming remarks from Professor Michael Kim and Namuh Rhee, Senior Career Advisor of the GSIS Career Development Center, new students were grouped into small groups according to their academic interest, and professors of each field enjoyed conversations with new students.
After Orientation, the Graduate School Association hosted dinner, and new students enjoyed samgyeopsal in Sinchon. Welcome to Yonsei GSIS!
