On May 29th, Yonsei GSIS had the distinct honor of hosting Seokho Brian Jeong, the visionary managing director of Art Busan, for an engaging and thought-provoking lecture as part of Prof. Claire Jo's K-Arts and Culture Talk Series. This event, the second in the series, offered students a unique and comprehensive glimpse into the intricacies of the contemporary art market and the dynamic world of international art fairs from a distinctly Korean viewpoint.

Mr. Jeong led attendees through a captivating discussion on the shifting role of art fairs in today’s fast-paced global art market. He highlighted the importance of local and international art fairs, shedding light on their profound impact on the global art community. Particularly noteworthy was his focus on DEFINE SEOUL, a premier design and art fair organized by Art Busan, underscoring the significant influence of major art events in Asia on contemporary art trends.

Far from being a mere presentation, the lecture transformed into a lively and interactive dialogue, with Mr. Jeong sharing his expert insights on the future of Korean contemporary art and design, as well as art fairs, in the global arena. He also discussed the exciting potential for future collaborations between Yonsei GSIS and Art Busan, sparking a sense of enthusiasm and anticipation among the students for upcoming projects and partnerships.
